The new BYD Seal 07 EV sedan will offer up to 718 km of WLTP range in China, thanks to a Blade 2.0 LFP battery that supports flash charging, the latest filing from the Chinese ministry revealed. This 5.1-meter sedan will enter the domestic market soon with an electric motor for 300 kW (408 hp) and a top speed of 240 km/h.
The new BYD Seal 07 sedan was unveiled by the Chinese MIIT on August 7 as a smaller counterpart of the Ocean series’ flagship Seal 08. This newcomer is going to replace the ongoing Seal 07 that entered the domestic market in March this year. The new model boasts hefty dimensions of 5080/1960/1495 mm with a wheelbase of 2,960 mm.
The entry-level Seal 07 BEV offers a 76.744 kWh LFP battery that weighs 539 kg, as released by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in the catalogue of NEVs eligible for vehicle purchase tax reduction. The traction battery occupies almost 28% of the car’s curb weight. It sends power to a TZ205QYS e-motor with a peak power output of 245 kW (329 hp). The entry-level Seal 07 can run up to 775 km under CLTC conditions. This number translates to 636 km WLTP. The battery could be charged from 10% to 97% in nine minutes.
